Server security settings

Server settings can be accessed via the context menu of the server icon in the tray.

Or through a shortcut in the Start menu.

The server settings can also be accessed from the command line via the ROMServer.exe / config server startup command.

Select the Security item in the server settings.

In the Security dialog box, you can configure the program’s security settings.
On the Authentication tab set the server authentication method.

The default type of security is password protection, set a new password or change the existing one.

For authentication, you can use the Windows NT security system, select Windows NT security subsystem and set permissions for Windows users.

You can configure a separate security system using virtually created users that are not tied to the operating system, the so-called LiteManager security system. To do this, select the password protection security system and set LM Permissions.

You can create new users and set their permissions in the LiteManager user access rights window that opens.

To add a new user enter their name and password, if necessary, enable the Request permission to connect option for the user.

Set permissions for this user. Full Access provides full access to the server without any restrictions.

Or access only to certain operating modes, for example: only viewing the desktop and transferring files.

To connect through Viewer using the LM users, enter the name and password of a user during authentication.

If the Request permission to connect option is enabled, the remote computer will open a dialog box with a connection request.

Enter the addresses and IP ranges, to which you grant or deny access.

On the security Modes tab, you can globally ban server access in a certain connection mode. The ban will apply to all connections to the server.
